Interieur objecten
For Architectenbureau OOK In Amersfoort, I designed various interior objects, including washbasins, an extensive 118-piece dinnerware set, and paperweights personalized with the logo of the architectural firm. The inspiration for these designs came from the move to a new building in the city center of Amersfoort. The aesthetic and atmosphere of natural and raw materials (charred black wood, glass, concrete, and even greenery) used in the new building had to be reflected in the interior objects to be designed.
black stoneware
Using the new building as a starting point, I developed a unique black ceramic for them. This is not black glaze, but the clay itself is deeply colored throughout. This allowed me to play with the contrast between the glossy glazed areas and the matte unglazed sections. As a result, the ceramics have a bold and raw appearance.
