MIX + MATCH Servies

mix + match

this series tableware is called mix + match. All the pieces from the various collections can be mixed and matched, allowing you to create your very own custom tableware. For one person, this might mean a foundational white porcelain set with gold details accented by a few eye-catching pieces with pearlescent glaze. For another, it could be a daily dining set of Delft Blue porcelain complemented by a selection of festive items finished with gold.

porcelain

The Mix + Match Tableware collection is crafted from porcelain and serves as the foundation for all handmade porcelain tableware sets. Porcelain is a beautiful and elegant material, and because it is fired at a high temperature (around 1250 degrees), it is significantly stronger—and therefore much more durable—than earthenware, which is far more porous. Porcelain also allows for much finer, more delicate designs, lending it an effortlessly elegant and refined appearance.

colour palette

Another distinctive feature of porcelain is its pure, bright white color. This base color is characteristic of porcelain and differs from ceramics like earthenware or stoneware, which typically have a cream or beige tone. This brilliant white allows pigments to stand out beautifully on porcelain and makes it easy to combine colors and patterns seamlessly. That’s why the mix and match concept works so well, offering endless possibilities to combine pieces from different collections and create your own personalized tableware.

24 carat gold

There’s no need to mask the ceramic with various colored glazes; porcelain is meant to be seen in its pure form. To add an extra touch of elegance, I often finish the pieces with 24-carat gold. Occasionally, I color the porcelain with a pigment, as I’ve done with the JADE series, which have a subtle greenish hue, or with a hint of Delft Blue oxide pigment, giving the porcelain a delicate light blue tone. Combined with gold, this is one of my favorites and blends beautifully with antique Delft Blue ceramics, as it is made from the same base materials.

inscription

It is possible to add a personal inscription to the ceramic piece, making it uniquely meaningful and tailored to the occasion or individual. Inscription adding an inscription truly makes a ceramic gift special. By incorporating an inscription into the ceramic piece, it becomes forever connected to the occasion or the person for whom it was made. This could be initials, an image, a wedding date, or even the date of a birth or anniversary.
